A walkthrough of the main screens and how to get the most out of ReelOnes.
Your main hub. Quick links to every section of the app — Discover, Shortlist, Playlist, Watchlist, Wishlist, Friends, Notifications, and Settings. Both navigation ribbons are always visible at the top and bottom of the screen.
Your starting point for finding movies and TV shows. Choose what to browse: Trending Now, New Releases, Top Rated, Upcoming, by Genre, your Watchlist, or personalised For You recommendations.
The main event. Swipe right to like something and it gets added to your Shortlist. Swipe left to pass. If you're browsing Upcoming content, swiping right adds it to your Wishlist instead. Tap the card to flip it and see full details including the trailer. Swipe up to reveal your Shortlist controls — current count plus quick actions to view, clear, or send your Shortlist to a friend. Swipe down to peek at your current filters.
Tap any card to flip it and see everything available for that title. This can include the synopsis, top cast with character names, director, revenue, budget, streaming availability, and trailer. Not every title has all of this information, so only what's available is shown.
Set your preferences once and they apply across discovery and swiping. Eight filters per content type (set independently for Movies and TV Shows): Ratings, Minimum Reviews, Release Year, Blocked Genres, Age Rating, Availability (streaming service), Language, and Adult Content. Your filters stay saved between sessions.
This is the heart of ReelOnes. Build a playlist from your lists or create a custom one from scratch, then send it to a friend. They swipe through your picks at their own pace and choose what they genuinely want to watch. Any titles you both like become a match. Three tabs keep everything organised: Matched (mutual likes with a friend), Received (playlists friends have sent you), and Sent (playlists you've shared).
Your personal collections. Create curated lists however you like. Your favourite romcoms, highest rated thrillers, feel good films for a rainy day, binge worthy box sets. Search, sort, and filter your lists, or send them directly to a friend as a playlist. Supports grid and list views with swipe to delete and multi select.
A curated quick pick list for things that catch your eye while swiping. Think of it as your "watching soon" shelf. Move items to your Watchlist when you're ready to commit.
For movies and shows that haven't been released yet. Shows release dates and notifies you when something comes out.
Every swipe you make builds your personal taste profile. My Ratings shows every movie and show you've ever liked or disliked. Search, sort, and change any past decision. Your swipe history automatically feeds two things: your Analytics dashboard and the personalised "For You" recommendations on the Discover screen, so the more you swipe, the smarter the app gets at showing you things you'll love.
A dashboard of your taste built entirely from your swipe history. See your genre preferences, favourite decades, top directors and actors, runtime tendencies, era preference, popularity bias, taste evolution, budget sweet spot, box office success rate, guilty pleasures, and more. Analytics is generated automatically as you swipe, no setup needed. The same data powers the "For You" mode on Discover, giving you curated recommendations tailored to your taste.
Your home for movie trivia and challenges. Choose from 16 solo game modes including Poster Blur, Connections, Rapid Fire, Higher or Lower, Perfect Pairing, and more. Track your XP, climb tiers from Novice to Master, and maintain your daily streak. Complete the rotating Daily Challenge for a 4x XP bonus.
Each game mode tests your movie knowledge differently. Identify films from blurred posters, build actor-to-movie chains, guess titles letter by letter, rank films by rating, spot co-stars from a lineup, and more. Games get harder as you progress, and your best scores contribute to your overall XP and tier.
See how you stack up against your friends. The leaderboard ranks players by XP and tier, so you can track who's climbing fastest. Tap any friend to compare stats and challenge them directly in a Head to Head match.
How well do you know your friends' movie taste? Pick 10 movies you think a friend would like, send the challenge, and see how many match their own picks. Two tabs keep things organised: Sent challenges you're waiting on, and Received challenges waiting for your response.
